Benny Soto has played an integral role in the underground dance music scene in NYC for decades. Former assistant to iconic New York pop culture artist Keith Haring, Benny Soto has seen it all. From rubbing shoulders with Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Grace Jones in the days of the Paradise Garage, to the current Brooklyn nightlife boom, he has remained a strong presence. A wealth of knowledge, he still dedicates himself to what he loves, the music. Benny Soto hosts a monthly party with partner DJ Danny Krivit called 718 Sessions, with a diverse cult following that is devoted to the classic house music sound. Recently, he's partnered with The Carry Nation, the legendary Brooklyn queer DJ duo, to produce the already near mythical party, They Went on Forever. His other event, Dance.Here.Now. has showcased some of the biggest names in underground dance music over the years. These days, if you're lucky you might catch him DJ'ing in Brooklyn somewhere at a late night soirée.
